The Pentair 461105 Control Board Kit is an OEM replacement electronic control board designed for use in Pentair MasterTemp® and Sta-Rite Max-E-Therm® pool & spa heaters. It features a six-button membrane pad and RS-485 communications assembly, delivering accurate control, diagnostics and heater operation reliability.

Compatible Heater Models

This control board kit fits select models in the following families: Pentair MasterTemp series (including 125, 200, 250, 280 BTU units) and Sta-Rite Max-E-Therm series. Always verify your heater model and serial number before ordering the kit.

Installation Instructions

  • Turn off the heater power supply and shut off the circulation pump.
  • Disconnect electrical and gas supply per manufacturer-specified lock-out procedures.
  • Open the heater access panel, remove the existing control board and keypad, and disconnect ribbon cables and connectors.
  • Install the new 461105 kit—connect the board, keypad, and communications module; secure mounting hardware.
  • Restore electrical and gas supply, power up the heater, and observe startup sequence—monitor for correct keypad operation and absence of error codes.

Troubleshooting

  • No display or unresponsive keypad: Verify power supply, fuse on the board, ribbon cable connection and that the kit has been installed correctly.
  • Error codes persist: Check that the board firmware is correct for your heater model, ensure sensors and wiring harnesses are intact, then reset the system.
  • Heater won’t fire or circulate: Confirm the control board is properly grounded and connected, and review wiring diagrams for compatibility.

Return Policy:

  • All products, except as noted below, are eligible for return up to 30 days after receipt of item.
  • For returns, an RMA form must be filled out HERE or customers can call for additional help.
  • Shipping costs will be deducted from all returned items.
  • Any item that is missing accessories, original packaging, or is not returned in the same condition that it was received in, may be subject to a re-stocking fee up to 100% based on the condition we receive it in. 
  • Items broken, damaged, or inoperable due to installer error will not be refunded.

  • If a light is returned because it "doesn't work" and it tests fine, the cost to ship and a re-stocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
  • All products denied upon arrival at customers house WILL be charged the cost to ship.
  • Visa Gift Card Promotions: Gift cards are sent within 14 days of the order. When accepting the Visa Gift card, you agree that if your order is returned or refunded, this amount will be deducted from the refunded amount. All Visa Gift cards are sent via email in an E-Gift Card format and are non refundable.
