The Pentair 410016Z is an OEM 2.5" union diamond seal kit used to create a watertight seal at the pump union connection on compatible Pentair and Sta-Rite pump models that use 2.5" diamond-seal style unions. What This Seal Does
- Provides the primary sealing surface at the union connection to prevent water leaks.
- Helps prevent air from being pulled into the pump on suction-side unions (which can cause bubbles, noise, or priming issues).
- Maintains a service-friendly union connection for easier pump removal and maintenance.
When to Replace
- Dripping or weeping at the pump union connection
- Flattened, cracked, swollen, or torn gasket/seal
- Union must be overtightened to stop a leak
- Union was disconnected for service and the old seal no longer reseals reliably
Installation Notes
- Turn off power to the pump and relieve system pressure before opening any union connection.
- Clean both sealing faces thoroughly (no grit, old rubber, or scale) before installing the new seal.
- Seat the diamond seal evenly and flat—do not twist or pinch it.
- Hand-tighten the union nut until snug; avoid overtightening which can distort the seal and cause leaks.
- After startup, recheck the union once the system is fully primed and running.
Maintenance Tip
If a union starts leaking, inspect for debris on the sealing faces before replacing parts. A small piece of grit on the union face can create a slow drip that looks like a failed gasket.

- If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
- Orders refused at the time of delivery will be subject to the original shipping costs being deducted from the refund.
