Pentair 471566Z Thermistor Probe for MiniMax and ThermaFlo Titanium Heat Pump

The Pentair 471566Z Thermistor Probe is a genuine replacement temperature sensor used on compatible Pentair MiniMax® pool and spa heaters and ThermaFlo® Titanium heat pump applications. This probe helps the heater or heat pump monitor water temperature so the control system can regulate heating operation properly.

This replacement thermistor probe is commonly used when the heater displays incorrect water temperature, has temperature-sensing issues, cycles improperly, or requires replacement of the original thermistor sensor during heater diagnostics.

Product Features

  • Genuine Pentair replacement thermistor probe
  • Manufacturer part number: 471566Z
  • Also commonly referenced as 471566
  • Used for water temperature sensing in compatible heater and heat pump systems
  • Fits select MiniMax® 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, and 400 heater models where specified
  • Compatible with select MiniMax® NX STD, NT TSI, NT LN, and ThermaFlo® Titanium heat pump applications
  • Common replacement during heater temperature-sensor troubleshooting

Product Details

Part Number 471566Z
Alternate Reference 471566
Product Type Thermistor Probe / Water Temperature Sensor
Heater Series MiniMax® and select ThermaFlo® Titanium applications
Application Pool and spa heater water temperature sensing
Common Use Replacing a failed, damaged, or inaccurate thermistor probe

Compatibility

  • Pentair MiniMax® 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, and 400 heater models where part number 471566Z is specified
  • Pentair MiniMax® NX STD heater applications requiring 471566Z
  • Pentair MiniMax® NT TSI heater applications requiring 471566Z
  • Pentair MiniMax® NT LN heater applications requiring 471566Z
  • Pentair ThermaFlo® Titanium heat pump applications requiring 471566Z
  • Replacement applications where the existing probe is marked 471566, 471566Z, or matches the equipment parts diagram

Common Signs This Part May Need Replacement

  • Heater displays an incorrect water temperature
  • Heater does not respond correctly to the temperature set point
  • Heater cycles on and off unexpectedly after other causes have been ruled out
  • Temperature reading jumps, drifts, or appears inconsistent
  • Thermistor probe wiring, connector, or sensor body is damaged
  • Heater diagnostics indicate a water temperature sensor or thermistor issue
  • Existing sensor tests outside the expected resistance range during service

Important Notes

  • This item is the thermistor probe only.
  • Control board, keypad, high-limit switches, pressure switch, unions, headers, heat exchanger, wiring harness, and complete heater are sold separately unless otherwise stated.
  • Verify your exact heater model, BTU size, and parts diagram before ordering.
  • This part is not universal for all Pentair heaters, MasterTemp® heaters, UltraTemp® heat pumps, or Sta-Rite heater models.
  • Temperature-control issues can also be caused by a bad control board, damaged wiring, poor water flow, high-limit faults, scale buildup, or heat exchanger problems.
  • Replacing the thermistor probe alone may not correct the issue if the heater control system, wiring, or water flow is faulty.
  • Pool heater repairs should be performed by a qualified pool heater technician when electrical or gas components are involved.

Installation Notes

  • Turn off electrical power to the heater or heat pump before service.
  • Allow the equipment to cool completely before removing temperature-sensing components.
  • Shut off the gas supply before working inside a gas heater cabinet.
  • Relieve system pressure and follow the equipment service manual before removing the old probe.
  • Label or photograph wiring connections before disconnecting the existing sensor.
  • Inspect the sensor port, connector, wiring, and surrounding heater components for corrosion or damage.
  • Do not overtighten the replacement probe.
  • After installation, restore power and confirm the displayed water temperature is reasonable before normal operation.
  • If the same fault returns, continue diagnosis of wiring, control board, water flow, and related safety circuits.

Maintenance Tips

  • Keep heater water flow within the manufacturer’s recommended range.
  • Maintain proper pool water chemistry to help reduce scale buildup and corrosion.
  • Inspect heater wiring and sensor connections during routine service.
  • Do not ignore repeated heater temperature faults or unusual temperature readings.
  • Keep the equipment pad dry and protected from water leaks that can damage electrical components.
  • Have recurring heater shutdowns or temperature-sensing issues diagnosed before replacing multiple parts.
