United Chemical Pool Stain Treat – 2 lb Bottle (PST-C12)
United Chemical Pool Stain Treat (PST-C12) is a granular stain remover and stain preventative designed to help lift and control common pool surface stains, especially iron (rust/“tea color”) and other mineral/metal staining, as well as some organic discoloration. It works by chelating and sequestering metals in the water to help remove existing staining and reduce re-staining.

Dosage Guidelines
- Stain Removal: 2 lb (1 bottle) per 20,000 gallons
- Stain Prevention: 1 lb per 20,000 gallons per month (maintenance dosing where staining conditions persist)
- Spot Treatment: Use a spotting bag/sock placed directly on the stain (monitor closely; do not leave in one place on vinyl or colored finishes without checking)
Application Notes
- Lower free chlorine before treatment (high chlorine can reduce effectiveness).
- Balance pH to the normal operating range (commonly 7.2–7.6).
- For general staining: broadcast the measured dose around the perimeter with the pump running.
- For colored plaster/painted finishes: pre-dissolve granules in a bucket of pool water before adding to help avoid lightening/bleaching.
- After stains lift, bring chlorine back up gradually (avoid immediate heavy shocking that can re-oxidize metals).
Safety & Handling
- Wear gloves and eye protection when handling.
- Avoid contact with skin and eyes; do not ingest.
- Store sealed in a cool, dry location and keep pool chemicals separated.

Maintenance Tips
- Identify the stain source (well water metals, heater corrosion, mineral-heavy fill water) to reduce repeat staining.
- Keep pH and alkalinity in range and avoid large swings—unstable water can trigger metals to fall out and stain surfaces.
- Run the pump continuously during active stain treatment and clean/backwash the filter as it loads up.
- If metals are a persistent issue, use a monthly prevention dose and consider using a hose pre-filter when filling.

Return Policy:
- All products, except as noted below, are eligible for return up to 30 days after receipt of item.
- For returns, an RMA form must be filled out HERE or customers can call for additional help.
- Shipping costs will be deducted from all returned items.
- Any item that is missing accessories, original packaging, or is not returned in the same condition that it was received in, may be subject to a re-stocking fee up to 100% based on the condition we receive it in.
- Items broken, damaged, or inoperable due to installer error will not be refunded.
