The Super-Pro SP0302-20 2-Inch Insider Coupler is a compact PVC plumbing fitting designed to connect two sections of compatible 2-inch PVC pipe from inside the pipe openings. Unlike traditional couplings that fit over the outside of a pipe, this insider coupling inserts into the pipe, making it useful for space-restricted swimming pool and spa plumbing repairs.

What Is an Insider Coupler?
An insider coupler is a plumbing fitting that creates a connection inside the bore of compatible PVC pipe. Unlike a standard PVC coupling, which slips over the outside of two pipe ends, an insider coupler fits within the existing pipe openings.
This design is particularly useful when repairing plumbing in tight spaces, around equipment pads, or near other fittings where a traditional coupling may not fit.

Insider Coupler vs. Standard PVC Coupling
A standard PVC coupling typically joins two pipe sections by fitting over their outside surfaces. The Super-Pro SP0302-20 uses an internal connection instead.
Because an insider coupler occupies space inside the pipe, it reduces the effective internal flow area at the connection. It should only be used where the resulting flow restriction and the manufacturer's pressure/application requirements are acceptable.
Installation Instructions
- Turn off connected pool equipment and completely relieve plumbing system pressure.
- Confirm that both pipe sections are compatible with the 2-inch insider coupling.
- Cut the PVC pipe square and remove burrs and loose debris.
- Clean and inspect the inside surfaces of both pipe ends.
- Dry-fit the coupler to confirm proper insertion and alignment.
- Apply compatible PVC primer where required by the cement manufacturer and applicable plumbing codes.
- Apply an appropriate PVC solvent cement to the specified bonding surfaces.
- Assemble the connection according to the fitting and solvent cement manufacturers' instructions.
- Allow the joint to cure for the required time before restoring system pressure.
- Restart the equipment and inspect the connection for leaks.
