Raypak 006725F 135°F Auto-Reset High Limit Thermostat (Surface Mount) – For Select Raypak Digital Pool & Spa Heaters

The Raypak 006725F is a 135°F auto-reset high limit thermostat used as an overheat safety switch on compatible Raypak pool and spa heaters. It is a surface-mount style limit that helps protect the heater by opening the safety circuit if the sensed temperature reaches its limit, then automatically resetting once temperatures return to a safe range.

Key Features

  • Part Number: 006725F
  • Type: High limit / safety thermostat
  • Temperature Rating: 135°F
  • Reset Type: Automatic reset
  • Mounting Style: Surface mount (mounts directly to the heater surface/heat exchanger area per model design)
  • Electrical Connection: Spade terminals (common quick-connect style)
  • Function: Helps shut down the heater on overheat conditions to protect internal components

Common Compatible Heater Models

  • Commonly used on select Raypak digital heater families such as R185A, R265A, R335A, R405A (confirm by your heater model and parts diagram)
  • May also be listed on select P-R series variants depending on configuration (verify fitment before ordering)

Common Symptoms of a Failing High Limit

  • Heater shuts off and will not fire consistently (intermittent safety trips)
  • Nuisance shutdowns after the heater runs for a short time
  • Corroded terminals or damaged wiring connections at the limit switch
  • Overheat-related errors after confirming proper water flow and clean filtration

Installation Notes

  • Shut off power to the heater before service.
  • Label and remove the wires from the old limit switch, then transfer to the new switch (same terminal locations).
  • Mount the new switch securely and ensure good surface contact where applicable.
  • If the high limit is tripping repeatedly, inspect the root cause: low water flow, dirty filter, closed valves, bypass issues, scale buildup, or restricted circulation.

Installation & Maintenance Tips

  • Keep filters clean and maintain proper water flow—low flow is one of the most common causes of overheat shutdowns.
  • Inspect heater wiring connections seasonally; loose or corroded spade terminals can cause intermittent operation.
  • Maintain balanced water chemistry to reduce scaling and overheating inside the heat exchanger.
  • If the heater cycles off on limit trips after service, confirm valves are fully open and the pump is primed before troubleshooting further.
