Praher 200-GATE 2" Slide (Gate) Valve – PVC – 2" Slip x 2" Slip – White
The Praher 200-GATE is a 2" PVC slide (gate) valve with 2" slip (socket) x 2" slip (socket) connections. It’s designed to provide a simple, space-saving way to shut off water flow on pool and spa plumbing lines—ideal for isolating pumps, filters, heaters, salt systems, or sections of piping for service.
Key Features
- Part Number: 200-GATE
- Valve Type: Slide valve / gate valve (manual shutoff)
- Size: 2" (nominal pipe size)
- Connections: 2" Slip x 2" Slip (solvent-weld sockets)
- Material: PVC
- Color: White
- Function: Positive shutoff for isolating equipment or plumbing sections
- Compact footprint: Fits well on crowded equipment pads where ball valves may be harder to access
Common Uses
- Isolating a pump, filter, heater, or salt system for maintenance
- Shutting off a dedicated water feature line (waterfall, bubbler, etc.)
- Temporary shutoff during plumbing repairs or equipment swaps
- Replacing a worn or leaking 2" slide valve on existing pool plumbing
Installation Notes
- Slip sockets are solvent-weld: Use primer and PVC cement rated for pressure pool plumbing.
- Dry-fit first: Confirm handle clearance and valve orientation before gluing.
- Support the plumbing: Reduce pipe strain near the valve to help prevent leaks and stress on glued joints.
- Service access: Install with enough vertical clearance to fully lift the slide/gate for maximum flow.

Installation & Maintenance Tips
- Operate the valve periodically to prevent the gate from sticking due to scale or debris.
- If flow seems restricted, confirm the gate is fully lifted and not binding from misaligned plumbing.
- Winterize by draining lines and relieving pressure—frozen water can crack valves and fittings.
- When re-plumbing equipment, consider adding unions near the valve for easier future service without cutting pipe.
