The Polaris Vac-Sweep 280 Black Max is a high-performance pressure-side pool cleaner designed for in-ground swimming pools. It uses a dedicated pressure line and booster pump to sweep, scrub and vacuum the pool floor, walls and steps in approximately three hours or less. The “Black Max” version features a black finish that blends seamlessly with darker pool surfaces.
Compatibility & Fitment
- Designed for in-ground pools of all surface types: concrete, vinyl, fiberglass, plaster and tile.
- Requires a dedicated 1½″ return pressure line and a compatible separate booster pump to supply pressure flow.
- Suitable for pool sizes typical of the model range; verify booster pump sizing and return line plumbing before installation.
- Not intended for above-ground pools unless explicitly configured for such use.

Installation Notes
Install the dedicated pressure line and booster pump to meet Polaris specifications. Connect the F5B cleaner to the return line and set the hose bag to the correct length so the vehicle sweeps the entire pool without being overly constrained. Ensure the booster pump is sized appropriately for the pool plumbing and cleaner hose length. After installation, run the cleaner and observe that it covers the entire pool floor and climbs the walls as designed before handing it off to the customer.
Maintenance Tip
At the beginning of each season inspect the sweep hose, debris bag and tires for wear, debris rotation and track integrity. Empty the debris bag regularly; rinse the cleaner and hose after heavy use or leaf load. Replace worn tires, drive belts or hose segments to maintain optimal coverage and cleaning efficiency.

Return Policy:
- Products that are received damaged will receive a refund in store credit.
- Most products are eligible for return within 30 days of receipt, except where noted below.
- To initiate a return, please complete an RMA form prior to sending your item back.
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the return credit.
- Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
- Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.
- We are unable to issue refunds for items that have been damaged or rendered inoperable due to installer error.

- If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
- Orders refused at the time of delivery will be subject to the original shipping costs being deducted from the refund.
