Applications & Compatibility
This lid assembly is intended for use with top-mount multiport valves in sand filters and other pool filtration equipment with 2″ ports, such as the Pentair/Sta-Rite 263085 body. If the original lid is cracked, leaking or no longer holds the correct position, replacing it with the 272568Z ensures the valve continues to function reliably.
Installation Instructions
- Turn off pump and relieve pressure in the filter system before servicing.
- Remove the old multiport valve lid and diverter assembly from the valve body.
- Inspect the valve body for wear, clean sealing surfaces and drain any trapped water.
- Install the new 272568Z lid assembly, aligning the diverter shaft and securing it to the valve body.
- Tighten according to manufacturer guidance, restore circulation, and test each of the six positions for proper flow and seal.
Troubleshooting
- Valve leaks in certain positions: Check O-ring seating, ensure diverter shaft is aligned and that the lid is uniformly tightened.
- Handle slips or fails to hold position: Verify handle installation, inspect the indexing mechanism and confirm the diverter rod engages properly.
- Reduced flow during “Backwash” or “Waste”: Strong resistance may indicate internal debris or damage in the valve body; clean or service as needed.
Maintenance Tip
Inspect the valve lid, handle and O-rings annually as part of your pool maintenance routine. Replace when you observe cracks, chemical degradation or loose components. Always keep the diverter mechanism clean and lubricate O-rings lightly during re-installation to extend reliable service.

- Products that are received damaged will receive a refund in store credit.

- To initiate a return, please complete an RMA form prior to sending your item back.
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the return credit.
- Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
- Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.

- If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
- Orders refused at the time of delivery will be subject to the original shipping costs being deducted from the refund.
