Hayward SP0410X602S 2" Slide (Push-Pull) Backwash Valve Assembly
The Hayward SP0410X602S is a 2" side-mount slide (push-pull) backwash valve designed for Hayward Pro Series and Pro Series Plus side-mount sand filter systems. It provides two operating positions so you can switch between normal filtration and backwashing to clean the sand media and restore flow.

What This Valve Does
- Filter position: Sends water through the sand filter for normal filtration.
- Backwash position: Reverses/redirects flow to flush debris out of the sand bed and out to waste.
When to Replace
- Water leaks from the valve body, shaft area, or around glued connections (after ruling out plumbing issues).
- The handle is difficult to move, sticks, or will not fully seat in either position.
- Backwashing no longer restores normal flow, or the valve will not hold position and allows bypass/mixing between modes.
- Cracks, warping, or UV damage on the valve body.

Installation and Maintenance Tips
- Turn power off at the breaker, shut valves, and relieve all pressure at the filter air-relief (if equipped) before servicing.
- Confirm you have 2" plumbing and adequate straight pipe length for solvent-weld (slip) connections.
- After installation, allow solvent cement cure time per the cement manufacturer instructions before restarting the system.
- Operate the valve only with the pump off to prevent internal damage and to reduce the chance of water hammer.
- If the handle becomes stiff, inspect and service the piston O-rings (and lubricate O-rings with a pool-safe silicone lubricant).
- Winterizing: drain the filter system and leave the valve in a position recommended for your climate to reduce freeze damage risk.

Return Policy:
- Products that are received damaged will receive a refund in store credit.

- To initiate a return, please complete an RMA form prior to sending your item back.
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the return credit.
- Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
- Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.
- We are unable to issue refunds for items that have been damaged or rendered inoperable due to installer error.

- If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
- Orders refused at the time of delivery will be subject to the original shipping costs being deducted from the refund.
