Hayward SP1084FDGR – Auto-Skim Faceplate / Lid Assembly (Gray)
The Hayward SP1084FDGR is a replacement faceplate (lid) for certain Auto-Skim in-ground pool skimmers. It forms the top portion of the skimmer — sealing the skimmer throat at deck level and providing a removable cover for maintenance access to the basket and weir.

When to Use / Replace
Replace the SP1084FDGR if the existing skimmer faceplate is cracked, warped, broken, or fails to seat flush with the deck — conditions that may lead to debris bypass, suction loss, or poor skimmer performance. Also install when remodeling or replacing deck coping to ensure a proper, flush finish.
Installation & Maintenance Tips
- Shut off the pump and lower water level below the skimmer throat if required before servicing.
- Remove the old faceplate carefully—then clean the skimmer throat lip and check for any cracks or damage to the skimmer body.
- Install the new cover, ensuring it sits flush with the surrounding deck or coping — check that the sealing lip aligns evenly and form-fit is tight.
- After installation, refill water to proper level and verify skimmer suction and basket alignment for proper operation.
- Inspect periodically for cracking or wear, especially if exposed to freeze/thaw cycles or heavy deck use. Replace promptly if damage is found.

Return Policy:
- All products, except as noted below, are eligible for return up to 30 days after receipt of item.
- For returns, an RMA form must be filled out HERE or customers can call for additional help.
- Shipping costs will be deducted from all returned items.
- Any item that is missing accessories, original packaging, or is not returned in the same condition that it was received in, may be subject to a re-stocking fee up to 100% based on the condition we receive it in.
- Items broken, damaged, or inoperable due to installer error will not be refunded.
