 429030 (429-030) Schedule 40 PVC Coupling – 3" Slip x Slip  – White

The Lasco 429030 is a Schedule 40 PVC straight coupling used to join two pieces of 3" PVC pipe in a solvent-weld (glue) system. Both ends are 3" slip (socket) connections, making it a common repair and plumbing fitting for pool/spa equipment pads, return/suction lines, water features, and irrigation systems.

Key Features

  • Part Number: 429030 (often shown as 429-030)
  • Type: PVC Coupling (straight)
  • Size: 3" (IPS)
  • Connections: 3" Slip (socket) x 3" Slip (socket)
  • Material: Schedule 40 PVC
  • Color: White
  • Use: Joins two 3" PVC pipes in a straight run

Common Applications

  • Repairing cracked or cut sections of 3" pool/spa plumbing
  • Extending a 3" line on an equipment pad
  • Building 3" manifolds and straight-run connections for water circulation systems
  • General-purpose 3" PVC plumbing (irrigation and water transfer)

Installation Notes

  • Slip ends are solvent-weld: Use PVC primer and a PVC cement rated for pressure plumbing.
  • Dry-fit first: Confirm alignment and spacing before gluing (3" fittings set quickly once cement is applied).
  • Full insertion: Mark insertion depth and seat pipe fully into the socket while cement is wet.
  • Support the pipe: Reduce stress on the coupling with proper pipe supports to help prevent future cracking.
  • Cure time: Allow proper cure time before pressurizing (varies by cement type, temperature, and humidity).

Installation & Maintenance Tips

  • Deburr and chamfer pipe ends before gluing to reduce the chance of wiping cement out of the joint during assembly.
  • Keep sockets and pipe ends clean and dry—dirt and moisture can weaken solvent-weld joints.
  • Avoid forcing misaligned plumbing into place; pipe strain is a common cause of hairline cracks over time.
  • After startup, inspect joints for seepage and address alignment/support issues immediately.
  • If you anticipate future equipment removal, consider adding a union nearby instead of relying on a glued coupling.
