Lasco 429005 (429-005) Schedule 40 PVC Coupling – 1/2" Slip x Slip (Socket) – White

The Lasco 429005 (also shown as 429-005) is a Schedule 40 PVC straight coupling used to join two pieces of 1/2" nominal PVC pipe in a solvent-weld (glue) system. Both ends are slip (socket) connections, making it a simple, low-profile fitting for pool/spa plumbing, irrigation, and general water lines.

Key Features

  • Part Number: 429005 (429-005)
  • Type: Straight coupling
  • Size: 1/2" (nominal pipe size)
  • Connections: Slip (socket) x Slip (socket)
  • Material: Schedule 40 PVC
  • Color: White
  • Typical max service temperature: 140°F
  • Common listings: NSF potable-water rated (varies by distribution batch)

Common Uses

  • Repairing or extending 1/2" PVC plumbing runs
  • Pool/spa accessory lines (small bypass or feeder lines where 1/2" is used)
  • Irrigation laterals and general-purpose water plumbing

Installation Notes

  • Slip ends are solvent-weld: Use PVC primer and PVC cement rated for pressure plumbing.
  • Full insertion matters: Deburr/chamfer pipe ends and seat pipe fully into each socket.
  • Allow proper cure time: Cure time varies by cement type, temperature, and humidity—do not pressurize early.
  • Reduce pipe stress: Support the line so the coupling is not forced to hold misalignment.

Installation & Maintenance Tips

  • Mark insertion depth before gluing so joints seat fully during assembly.
  • For best bond strength, keep sockets and pipe ends clean and dry during cementing.
  • If you expect frequent equipment removal, use a union nearby instead of relying on a glued coupling.
  • After startup, inspect joints for seepage and correct any alignment/support issues immediately.
