The R0445500 Ceramic & Spring Seal is a genuine replacement mechanical shaft seal used on compatible Polaris and Zodiac pool pump applications, including the Polaris PB4-60 booster pump. This seal helps prevent water from leaking along the motor shaft where the wet end connects to the pump motor.
This replacement seal is commonly used when the pump is leaking between the motor and pump housing, after a motor replacement, or during booster pump wet-end service. A properly installed shaft seal helps protect the motor from water damage and keeps the pump operating correctly.

- Some Jandy pump models use different mechanical shaft seal part numbers, such as R0479400.
- If your pump has been rebuilt before, confirm the wet end and motor configuration before selecting a seal.
- If the seal plate, impeller, or motor shaft is damaged, replacing the seal alone may not stop the leak.
Common Signs of Shaft Seal Failure

Installation Notes
- Turn off all power to the pump before service.
- Relieve system pressure and drain the pump before disassembly.
- Remove the old seal completely from the impeller and seal plate.
- Clean the seal plate and impeller sealing surfaces before installation.
- Do not touch the polished ceramic or carbon sealing faces with bare hands.
- Install the ceramic and spring seal halves in the correct orientation.
- Inspect the impeller, diffuser, seal plate, O-rings, and motor shaft during service.
- Prime the pump fully and check carefully for leaks after reassembly.
Maintenance Tips
- Do not run the pump dry, as this can quickly damage the shaft seal.
- Repair leaks promptly to help prevent motor bearing and electrical damage.
- Maintain proper pool water chemistry to help protect seals and pump components.
- Inspect nearby O-rings and gaskets whenever replacing the shaft seal.
- Replace the shaft seal whenever the motor is removed from the wet end for service.

Return Policy:
- Products that are received damaged will receive a refund in store credit.
- Most products are eligible for return within 30 days of receipt, except where noted below.
- To initiate a return, please complete an RMA form prior to sending your item back.
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the return credit.
- Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
- Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.
- We are unable to issue refunds for items that have been damaged or rendered inoperable due to installer error.
- Please complete the return form to receive your RMA number and return shipping label.

- Pool cleaners are not eligible for return.
- Opened seals and o-rings are not eligible for return.
- Capacitors are not eligible for return.

- Automation components and circuit boards are not eligible for return.
- If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
- Orders refused at the time of delivery will be subject to the original shipping costs being deducted from the refund.
