Description

This black Vac Lock safety wall fitting from Hayward provides a secure, dedicated suction-line connection for automatic pool cleaners. It features a large debris basket and a free-rotation safety cover that locks the hose when in use and closes the suction port when not, helping maintain safe water flow and prevent unintended suction hazards.

Compatibility & Fitment

  • Designed for in-ground pools with a dedicated suction line for automatic cleaners (especially compatible with Hayward Navigator model cleaners).
  • Fits 1½″ (1.5″) MPT threaded connection on the pool wall or fitting branch line.
  • Used when the existing suction-wall fitting is missing, damaged, leaking, or lacks a safety locking mechanism.

  • Color: Black finish for aesthetic match to dark pool walls or tube systems.
  • Large integrated basket to capture leaves and larger debris before it reaches the pump system.
  • Free-rotation locking lid holds the cleaner hose securely in place and closes port when cleaner is removed, maintaining safe suction conditions.
  • Fits 1½″ male threaded (MPT) wall or branch fittings for direct replacement.

Installation Notes

Turn off pool pump and relieve pressure before beginning installation. Remove the existing suction wall fitting or adapter. Apply pool-safe thread sealant to the 1½″ MPT threads and screw in the W400BBKP fitting until flush and secure. Connect the cleaner hose to the basket port, test cleaner operation, remove the hose and verify the lid closes securely. Confirm there are no leaks and that water flow is maintained.

Maintenance Tip

Inspect the lid, basket and fitting annually or when removing the cleaner hose. Clean out debris from the basket and verify the lid mechanism engages and seals properly. Replace the fitting if you observe cracks, scoring on threads, or if the lid fails to close — proper fit ensures safe suction-side cleaner operation and pool compliance.

  • Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
  • Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.
  • We are unable to issue refunds for items that have been damaged or rendered inoperable due to installer error.

  • If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
