Compatibility & Fitment
This sight glass is designed for use with Hayward multiport valves such as the Vari-Flo series, including models SP0710, SP0710X, SP0711, SP0712 (1½″) and SP0715, SP0716 (2″) respectively. Always confirm your valve model before ordering to ensure correct fit.
Installation Instructions
- Turn off the pump and relieve pressure in the filter system before servicing the valve.
- Remove the existing sight glass by unscrewing from the valve port, taking care with any residual water.
- Remove the old O-ring and clean the seating surface inside the valve port.
- Install the new sight glass with O-ring, ensuring the O-ring is seated fully and the glass threads are aligned correctly.
- Tighten the glass by hand until snug; restore flow and check for leaks around the sight glass area.
Troubleshooting
- Leak around sight glass: Verify the O-ring is seated flat, the port face is clean, and the glass is tightened properly.
- No water visible in sight glass during backwash: Ensure the valve is in the correct position and the pool pump is running; the sight glass may not fill in “Filter” position.
- Cracked or cloudy glass window: Replace the sight glass to maintain visibility and prevent water intrusion or valve failure.
Maintenance Tip
Inspect the sight glass each season or during routine filter service. Replace the glass if scratches, clouding or leaks appear, and replace the O-ring if it shows flattening or chemical damage. Keeping this component in good condition helps maintain your valve’s reliability.

Return Policy:
- All products, except as noted below, are eligible for return up to 30 days after receipt of item.
- For returns, an RMA form must be filled out HERE or customers can call for additional help.
- Shipping costs will be deducted from all returned items.
- Any item that is missing accessories, original packaging, or is not returned in the same condition that it was received in, may be subject to a re-stocking fee up to 100% based on the condition we receive it in.
- Items broken, damaged, or inoperable due to installer error will not be refunded.

- If a light is returned because it "doesn't work" and it tests fine, the cost to ship and a re-stocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
