Hayward CX250G Star-Clear™ Filter Locking Knob (Replacement)
The Hayward CX250G is a genuine OEM locking knob used on Hayward Star-Clear cartridge filters. This knob secures the filter head to the filter body, helping maintain a tight seal for proper filtration. Replace it if the original knob is cracked, stripped, missing, or no longer tightens smoothly.

Installation Notes
- Turn off the pump and relieve pressure before opening the filter.
- Install the new locking knob and tighten per the filter’s instructions—do not overtighten.
- If you still have leaks after replacement, inspect the filter head O-ring/sealing surfaces and replace worn seals as needed.

Maintenance Tips
- Keep the filter head O-ring clean and lightly lubricated with silicone-based lube to improve sealing and reduce binding.
- Do not use tools to over-tighten plastic knobs—snug and evenly seated is best.
- If the knob becomes hard to turn, clean debris from threads/seating surfaces before forcing it.

Return Policy:
- All products, except as noted below, are eligible for return up to 30 days after receipt of item.
- For returns, an RMA form must be filled out HERE or customers can call for additional help.
- Shipping costs will be deducted from all returned items.
- Any item that is missing accessories, original packaging, or is not returned in the same condition that it was received in, may be subject to a re-stocking fee up to 100% based on the condition we receive it in.
- Items broken, damaged, or inoperable due to installer error will not be refunded.
