Hayward CX250C Star-Clear Filter Head Dome with Air Relief Valve
The Hayward CX250C is a genuine replacement filter head dome for Hayward Star-Clear cartridge filters. This is the top “dome” assembly that secures to the tank and includes the manual air relief (vent) valve for purging trapped air during startup and service.

Installation Notes
- Turn off the pump and relieve pressure before opening the filter.
- Inspect and replace the head gasket/O-ring if it’s flattened, nicked, or stiff.
- Clean all sealing surfaces before reassembly and tighten the locking knob evenly (do not overtighten).
- After startup, open the air relief until you get a steady stream of water, then close it.

Maintenance Tips
- Open the air relief during startup to purge trapped air—running with air in the tank can reduce flow and performance.
- Keep the head gasket clean and lightly lubricated with silicone-based pool lube to help prevent pinching and leaks.
- Don’t use tools to overtighten the locking knob—snug and evenly seated is best.
- If you see seepage at the head/tank seam, replace the gasket/O-ring rather than forcing the head tighter.

Return Policy:
- All products, except as noted below, are eligible for return up to 30 days after receipt of item.
- For returns, an RMA form must be filled out HERE or customers can call for additional help.
- Shipping costs will be deducted from all returned items.
- Any item that is missing accessories, original packaging, or is not returned in the same condition that it was received in, may be subject to a re-stocking fee up to 100% based on the condition we receive it in.
- Items broken, damaged, or inoperable due to installer error will not be refunded.
