Application
The Hayward SX202QA Lateral Assembly is a direct replacement for the Hayward S200 Series in-ground sand filters (manufactured from approximately 1997 onward). This complete assembly includes the hub, standpipe, and folding umbrella-style laterals designed to evenly distribute water through the sand bed for efficient filtration and backwashing.

Installation Notes
Before installation, ensure the filter tank is fully drained and power to the pump is disconnected. Remove the tank lid and lower the sand level below the laterals. Detach and discard the old lateral assembly, then install the SX202QA assembly, aligning the standpipe and hub correctly. Refill with #20 silica sand, reattach the filter head, and tighten unions. Reference part #14 in the Hayward S200 filter parts diagram for correct placement.
Compatibility & Fitment
Compatible with Hayward S200 Series sand filters (Model S200). This assembly corresponds to part number reference #14 in the official Hayward parts list. Not cross-compatible with other Hayward filter models.
Maintenance Tip
Inspect laterals periodically for cracks or clogging, especially after sand changes or tank maintenance. Replace if water flow becomes uneven, backwash water remains cloudy, or filter pressure stays high. Using the genuine Hayward SX202QA ensures proper flow balance and optimal filtration efficiency.
