Hayward SPX0714CA Key/Seal Assembly (Diverter with Integrated Spider Gasket) for Vari-Flo XL SP0714T
The Hayward SPX0714CA is the OEM key/seal (diverter) assembly used inside the Hayward Vari-Flo XL multiport valve model SP0714T. This is the internal diverter component that routes water through the valve positions and provides sealing between ports.
Fits / Compatibility
- Designed for Hayward Vari-Flo XL multiport valve SP0714T (commonly a 1-1/2" top-mount valve).
- Commonly used on select Hayward ProSeries and VL Series sand filter systems that use the SP0714T valve.
- Always confirm the valve model number on the valve body label (SP0714T) before ordering.
What’s Included
- Internal diverter / key assembly
- Integrated 4-spoke spider gasket molded/glued into the assembly (not sold separately on many setups)
What It Fixes
- Water leaking out of the waste/backwash port when in the Filter position (often a worn spider gasket)
- Cross-port bypassing (poor separation between valve positions)
- Loss of proper flow control due to a worn or damaged diverter/key assembly
Installation Notes
- Shut off power to the pump and relieve filter pressure before opening the valve.
- Take a quick photo of the valve orientation before disassembly to ensure correct reassembly.
- Clean the valve body sealing surface before installing the new assembly.
- Tighten cover screws evenly in a crisscross pattern to help prevent leaks.

Maintenance Tips
- Never change multiport valve positions while the pump is running—always turn the pump off first.
- If you notice water slowly draining to waste while filtering, inspect/replace the diverter assembly before it worsens.
- Keep the cover O-ring lightly lubricated with silicone-based lube to reduce pinching and seepage.
- After installation, run the system and verify there is no leakage at the lid and no flow to the waste line in Filter mode.

Return Policy:
- All products, except as noted below, are eligible for return up to 30 days after receipt of item.
- For returns, an RMA form must be filled out HERE or customers can call for additional help.
- Shipping costs will be deducted from all returned items.
- Any item that is missing accessories, original packaging, or is not returned in the same condition that it was received in, may be subject to a re-stocking fee up to 100% based on the condition we receive it in.
- Items broken, damaged, or inoperable due to installer error will not be refunded.
- Fill out the return form or give us a call to obtain an RMA and return shipping label.

- If a light is returned because it "doesn't work" and it tests fine, the cost to ship and a re-stocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
- All products denied upon arrival at customers house WILL be charged the cost to ship.

When accepting the Visa Gift card, you agree that if your order is returned or refunded, this amount will be deducted from the refunded amount.
