Hayward SP1084FDGR – Auto-Skim Faceplate / Lid Assembly (Gray)

The Hayward SP1084FDGR is a replacement faceplate (lid) for certain Auto-Skim in-ground pool skimmers. It forms the top portion of the skimmer — sealing the skimmer throat at deck level and providing a removable cover for maintenance access to the basket and weir.

When to Use / Replace

Replace the SP1084FDGR if the existing skimmer faceplate is cracked, warped, broken, or fails to seat flush with the deck — conditions that may lead to debris bypass, suction loss, or poor skimmer performance. Also install when remodeling or replacing deck coping to ensure a proper, flush finish.

Installation & Maintenance Tips

  • Shut off the pump and lower water level below the skimmer throat if required before servicing.
  • Remove the old faceplate carefully—then clean the skimmer throat lip and check for any cracks or damage to the skimmer body.
  • Install the new cover, ensuring it sits flush with the surrounding deck or coping — check that the sealing lip aligns evenly and form-fit is tight.
  • After installation, refill water to proper level and verify skimmer suction and basket alignment for proper operation.
  • Inspect periodically for cracking or wear, especially if exposed to freeze/thaw cycles or heavy deck use. Replace promptly if damage is found.

Return Policy:

  • Products that are received damaged will receive a refund in store credit.
  • Most products are eligible for return within 30 days of receipt, except where noted below.
  • To initiate a return, please complete an RMA form prior to sending your item back.
  • Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the return credit.
  • Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
  • Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.
  • We are unable to issue refunds for items that have been damaged or rendered inoperable due to installer error.

  • Opened seals and o-rings are not eligible for return.
  • Capacitors are not eligible for return.

  • Automation components and circuit boards are not eligible for return.
  • If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
  • Orders refused at the time of delivery will be subject to the original shipping costs being deducted from the refund.
