The Hayward SPX3400DR Motor Drive is a genuine replacement variable-speed drive for compatible Hayward EcoStar and TriStar variable-speed pool pumps. This assembly controls the operation and speed of the pump motor and includes the digital control interface used to program and operate the pump.
This replacement is designed for standard, non-SVRS pump applications. It is commonly used when an existing drive has failed, displays recurring drive-related error codes, no longer powers the motor correctly, or has a damaged control interface.

Compatibility
The Hayward SPX3400DR is used with select standard, non-SVRS Hayward variable-speed pump models, including:
- Hayward EcoStar SP3400VSP
- Select Hayward TriStar VS 2.7 THP pumps
- Hayward TriStar VS 950 SP32950VSP
Important Compatibility Note
This is the standard motor drive. Pumps equipped with SVRS vacuum-release functionality require the Hayward SPX3400DRVR SVRS motor drive instead. Verify the complete pump model number and existing drive type before ordering.
Installation Notes
- Turn off electrical power at the circuit breaker before servicing the pump.
- The motor leads must be disconnected before removing the existing drive and reconnected when installing the replacement.
- Ensure that the motor leads are not pinched between the drive enclosure and the motor during assembly.
- Use the digital control interface supplied with the replacement drive rather than transferring the old display to the new drive.
- The replacement display will need to be programmed after installation.
- Installation should be completed by a qualified pool equipment technician or electrician.

- Keep the drive housing, wiring cover, and display cover securely installed to help protect internal electronics from moisture and debris.
- Maintain adequate airflow around the motor and drive assembly to reduce heat buildup.

Return Policy:
- Products that are received damaged will receive a refund in store credit.
- Most products are eligible for return within 30 days of receipt, except where noted below.
- To initiate a return, please complete an RMA form prior to sending your item back.
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the return credit.
- Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
- Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.
- We are unable to issue refunds for items that have been damaged or rendered inoperable due to installer error.

- If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
- Orders refused at the time of delivery will be subject to the original shipping costs being deducted from the refund.
