The Pentair 355545Z Diffuser is a genuine replacement diffuser used in compatible Pentair Challenger High Pressure pool and spa pumps. The diffuser helps direct water flow from the impeller into the pump volute, supporting proper pressure, flow, and pump performance.
This replacement diffuser is commonly used during Challenger pump rebuilds, impeller replacement, motor service, or repairs where the existing diffuser is cracked, warped, worn, or damaged. - For some Challenger High Pressure applications, Pentair notes that diffuser 355545Z should be replaced together with impeller 355604Z.
- This part is not universal for all Challenger pump models or all Pentair pumps.
- If the impeller, seal plate, front housing, or motor shaft is damaged, replacing the diffuser alone may not restore proper pump performance.
Installation Notes
- Turn off power to the pump at the breaker before servicing.
- Relieve system pressure and drain the pump before disassembly.
- Inspect the impeller, diffuser, shaft seal, seal plate, and O-rings during service.
- Replace worn seals and O-rings whenever the pump is opened for repair.
- Make sure the diffuser seats properly over the impeller and aligns correctly with the pump housing.
- Use pool-safe silicone lubricant on O-rings where required.
- Do not use petroleum-based lubricant on rubber seals.
- Prime the pump fully before restarting to avoid dry-run damage.
- After installation, check for leaks, abnormal noise, vibration, and proper water flow.

Maintenance Tips
- Keep the pump basket clean to reduce strain on the pump and internal components.
- Do not allow the pump to run dry, as heat damage can warp the diffuser and impeller.
- Inspect the diffuser and impeller whenever replacing a motor or shaft seal.
- Replace worn O-rings and seals during pump rebuilds to help prevent leaks and air intrusion.
- Maintain proper water level and clear suction lines to help prevent cavitation and loss of prime.
- Address unusual pump noise, vibration, or flow loss quickly to help prevent additional pump damage.

Return Policy:
- Products that are received damaged will receive a refund in store credit.
- Most products are eligible for return within 30 days of receipt, except where noted below.
- To initiate a return, please complete an RMA form prior to sending your item back.
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the return credit.
- Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
- Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.
- We are unable to issue refunds for items that have been damaged or rendered inoperable due to installer error.

- If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
- Orders refused at the time of delivery will be subject to the original shipping costs being deducted from the refund.
