Raypak 003898F Millivolt Natural Gas Combination Gas Valve Kit (Standing Pilot) – OEM Replacement

The Raypak 003898F is an OEM replacement millivolt (standing pilot) natural gas combination gas valve kit used on many Raypak millivolt pool and spa heaters. This valve controls gas flow to the pilot and main burner and is a common fix when the heater won’t open the gas valve, has inconsistent firing, or the valve is sticking, leaking, or corroded.

  • Natural gas only: Do not use on propane/LP systems. Use the correct LP/millivolt valve for propane heaters.
  • Millivolt only: Not intended for IID/digital electronic ignition heaters that use an electronic gas valve.
  • Verify before ordering: Match the part number to your heater model/serial and compare the existing valve and connections.
  • Qualified service recommended: Gas components are safety-critical and should be installed and leak-tested by a trained professional.

Installation & Maintenance Tips

  • Shut off gas supply and power (if present), and let the heater cool before servicing any gas components.
  • After installation, leak-test every gas joint and fitting before operating the heater.
  • If the new valve won’t open, confirm pilot flame quality and thermopile output, clean pilot assembly, and verify the safety circuit is intact.
  • Keep the burner compartment clean and ensure combustion air openings are clear to reduce corrosion and combustion issues.

Return Policy:

  • All products, except as noted below, are eligible for return up to 30 days after receipt of item.
  • For returns, an RMA form must be filled out HERE or customers can call for additional help.
  • Shipping costs will be deducted from all returned items.
  • Any item that is missing accessories, original packaging, or is not returned in the same condition that it was received in, may be subject to a re-stocking fee up to 100% based on the condition we receive it in. 
  • Items broken, damaged, or inoperable due to installer error will not be refunded.
