Compatibility & Installation Notes
This kit fits select Jandy variable- and single-speed pumps where the inlet/outlet plumbing requires a 2″ to 2½″ transition. Before installation, verify your pump’s model number, tail-piece size and plumbing connections. Proper fit ensures reliable flow, minimal turbulence and long-term sealing integrity.
Installation Instructions
- Turn off power to the pump and relieve system pressure before servicing.
- Remove the existing tail-pieces, coupling nuts and O-rings, and inspect the pump outlet for damage.
- Install the new O-rings onto the new tail-pieces, insert the tail-pieces into the pump outlet ports, and secure with the new coupling nuts.
- Ensure plumbing is aligned and torqued correctly to avoid stress on the union joints.
- Restore power and pump operation, then inspect for leaks at the unions and verify proper flow.
Troubleshooting
- Leak at union joint: Ensure O-ring is seated properly, coupling nut is tight, and tail-piece is fully inserted.
- Reduced flow or vibration: Verify the plumbing transition is correct size, and the tail-piece is appropriately sized for your pump outlet.
- Difficulty aligning plumbing: Check that the tail-pieces are installed flush and the coupling nuts are not cross-threaded or over-tightened.
Maintenance Tip
Inspect the union connections during routine pump service—remove the coupling nuts, check the O-rings for wear or deformation, and replace them if necessary. Keeping the union interface in good condition helps maintain pump efficiency and prevents motor or plumbing stress from misalignment over time.
