The Waterway 505-2160 is a complete lateral and manifold assembly designed for select 22" Waterway Carefree sand filters. This internal assembly distributes water evenly through the sand bed during filtration and collects water efficiently during backwashing. Replacing a cracked manifold or broken laterals helps restore proper flow, filtration performance, and prevents sand from returning to the pool.

Common Signs You Need Replacement

Installation Notes
- Shut off power, relieve pressure, and drain the filter before opening.
- When replacing internals, inspect the standpipe, tank o-ring, and diffuser parts for wear.
- If you remove sand, keep the standpipe capped to prevent sand from entering the pipe.
- After reassembly, refill to proper sand level for your filter model and backwash/rinse per your valve procedure.

Maintenance Tips
- Backwash when filter pressure rises about 8–10 PSI above your clean starting pressure.
- Rinse after backwashing (for multiport valves) to help prevent sand from blowing back into the pool.
- Keep water chemistry balanced—scale buildup can reduce flow and shorten internal component life.
- If you open the filter for service, inspect laterals for hairline cracks and replace damaged parts before they fail completely.

Return Policy:
- Products that are received damaged will receive a refund in store credit.
- Most products are eligible for return within 30 days of receipt, except where noted below.
- To initiate a return, please complete an RMA form prior to sending your item back.
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the return credit.
- Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
- Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.

- If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
- Orders refused at the time of delivery will be subject to the original shipping costs being deducted from the refund.
