Waterway 319-2170 Pump Trap / Strainer Body – 6" (1-1/2" FPT / 1-1/2" Buttress x 2" Union Flange)

The Waterway 319-2170 is a replacement pump trap (strainer pot) body used on select Waterway Hi-Flo side discharge style pumps. The trap body houses the pump strainer basket and connects to the pump volute using a union-style mount, helping restore a leak-free, properly aligned connection when the original body is cracked, warped, or damaged.

Maintenance Tips

  • Keep the strainer basket clean—restricted flow can cause cavitation, poor circulation, and premature pump wear.
  • Inspect the lid O-ring each cleaning; clean it and apply a light coat of silicone pool lube to reduce air leaks and make removal easier.
  • If you notice air in the pump basket, check the lid seal, drain plugs, and union sealing surfaces before assuming a plumbing leak.
  • During freezing weather, drain the pump/trap body completely to help prevent cracking.

Return Policy:

  • Products that are received damaged will receive a refund in store credit.

  • To initiate a return, please complete an RMA form prior to sending your item back.
  • Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the return credit.
  • Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
  • Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.
  • We are unable to issue refunds for items that have been damaged or rendered inoperable due to installer error.

  • If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
  • Orders refused at the time of delivery will be subject to the original shipping costs being deducted from the refund.
