Description
A durable trap assembly designed to capture debris and protect pool pump systems. This 6″-diameter housing fits between the suction side plumbing and the pump inlet, helping prevent leaves, twigs and other debris from entering the pump wet-end and prolonging equipment life.
Compatibility & Fitment
- Fits pool pump systems requiring a 6″ housing with 1½″ union output and 1½″ FPT intake.
- Ideal replacement when the existing trap housing is cracked, leaking, or missing key components.
- Compatible with many Waterway Hi-Flo, E-Series and center discharge pump systems using the same trap form-factor.

Installation Notes
Shut off power to pump and relieve system pressure. Drain suction side if needed. Remove old trap assembly, clean mounting flange and inspect O-ring condition. Install new 310-5400 assembly, ensuring proper alignment of ports and secure union connection. Prime pump and resume circulation, verify no leaks and correct suction flow into the basket area.
Maintenance Tip
Check the trap assembly during each service visit. Remove the basket, rinse debris, inspect for cracks around housing and ensure lid clamp seals properly. Replace the trap if any structural damage or persistent leaks are found to maintain pump performance and avoid damage.

Return Policy:
- Products that are received damaged will receive a refund in store credit.
- Most products are eligible for return within 30 days of receipt, except where noted below.
- To initiate a return, please complete an RMA form prior to sending your item back.
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the return credit.
- Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
- Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.
- We are unable to issue refunds for items that have been damaged or rendered inoperable due to installer error.

- Chemical products are not eligible for return under any circumstances.

- Pool cleaners are not eligible for return.
- Opened seals and o-rings are not eligible for return.
- Capacitors are not eligible for return.
- Plastic popup tools are not eligible for return.
- Automation components and circuit boards are not eligible for return.
- If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
- Orders refused at the time of delivery will be subject to the original shipping costs being deducted from the refund.
