Raypak 009833 D-2 Power Vent Kit – 240V – For Raypak Digital IID Heaters (336A–408A)

The Raypak 009833 is a factory D-2 mechanical draft (power vent) assembly designed for compatible Raypak Digital IID pool and spa heaters in the 336A–408A size range. It replaces the standard draft hood and provides fan-assisted exhaust to support approved venting configurations (including longer vent runs and sidewall venting when installed per the manufacturer’s instructions using appropriate Category III vent materials).

Key Features

  • Part Number: 009833
  • Type: D-2 Power Vent (Category III mechanical draft)
  • Voltage: 240V (verify your heater’s factory wiring and site power before ordering)
  • Draft safety: Draft proving switch verifies blower operation before heater operation
  • Design: Multi-position configuration supports common indoor/through-the-wall venting layouts when permitted
  • Exhaust connection: Typically 4" vent outlet (confirm your venting requirements and parts diagram)
  • Venting capability: Commonly listed for up to ~100 equivalent feet of vent length (per installation requirements)

Typical Compatibility

  • Raypak Digital IID heater families commonly including 336A / 337A / 406A / 407A / 408A
  • Important: Raypak parts can vary by revision. Always match by your heater model/serial and the correct parts diagram.

Common Reasons to Replace

  • Blower motor failure (noisy, seized, not starting, or intermittent operation)
  • Draft proving switch issues traced to the vent assembly
  • Corrosion or damage to the plenum/cabinet
  • Updating a compatible installation to a factory power-vent configuration (when allowed and supported by the heater documentation)

Installation Notes

  • Safety-critical component: Venting involves combustion exhaust. Installation should follow Raypak instructions and local code requirements.
  • Use approved venting: Category III venting typically requires specific sealed vent pipe/fittings suitable for positive pressure exhaust.
  • Verify clearances: Confirm termination location, air openings, and required clearances before installation.
  • Electrical verification: Confirm proper voltage, grounding, and wiring configuration for your heater and site.

Installation & Maintenance Tips

  • Inspect the vent termination area periodically for nests, debris, or blockage that can affect draft.
  • Check wiring connections and the proving switch tubing/ports (if equipped) for corrosion or loose connections.
  • If the heater cycles off on draft-related faults, shut down and inspect venting layout, joints, and combustion air supply.
  • Maintain proper water flow and clean filtration—low flow and overheating can contribute to premature component wear.
