Poolguard GAPT-2 Pool Gate Alarm – UL 2017 Water Hazard Entrance Alarm
The Poolguard GAPT-2 is an outdoor-rated gate/door alarm designed to help alert you when a pool gate (or exterior door) leading to the pool area is opened. It uses a sensor switch and magnet to monitor the gate and sounds an audible alarm if the gate is opened without using the adult pass-through feature.

How the Alarm Works
- Standard operation: When the gate opens, the alarm gives a brief window to press the pass-through switch. If not pressed in time, the alarm will sound (even if the gate is closed again).
- Adult pass-through: Pressing the pass-through switch shortly after opening the gate provides a short delay to pass through and close the gate before the alarm sounds.
- Reminder if left open: If the gate is left open, the alarm continues to alert until the gate is closed and the pass-through switch is pressed to silence.
Installation Notes
- Mounting height: Install the alarm at least 54 inches above the gate threshold.
- Sensor alignment: The sensor switch mounts to the fixed post/frame and the magnet mounts to the gate so they line up when closed.
- Acceptable gap: Typical spacing between the sensor and magnet is up to about 2 inches (metal gates/posts may require a smaller gap).
- Wiring: Includes sensor wiring for typical gate installations (mounting hardware varies by setup).
Battery & Operation
- Uses a standard 9V alkaline battery (not included).
- Battery life is commonly about 1 year under typical use (varies with alarms and climate).
- Test the alarm regularly by opening the gate and confirming the alarm sounds as expected.

- This is a safety alarm system and is not a life-saving device. Always supervise children and use layered pool safety measures.

Installation & Maintenance Tips
- Replace the 9V battery at the start of each swim season (or sooner if you hear low-battery chirps).
- Keep the sensor and magnet clean and firmly mounted—loose hardware can cause missed triggers.
- Confirm the gate self-closes and latches correctly; a gate left ajar defeats the purpose of a monitored entry point.
- After storms or windy conditions, re-check alignment and mounting screws for movement.

Return Policy:
- Products that are received damaged will receive a refund in store credit.
- Most products are eligible for return within 30 days of receipt, except where noted below.
- To initiate a return, please complete an RMA form prior to sending your item back.
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the return credit.
- Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
- Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.
- We are unable to issue refunds for items that have been damaged or rendered inoperable due to installer error.
- Please complete the return form to receive your RMA number and return shipping label.
- Chemical products are not eligible for return under any circumstances.
- The Pentair Colorsync 618031 is not eligible for return.
- Pool cleaners are not eligible for return.
- Opened seals and o-rings are not eligible for return.
- Capacitors are not eligible for return.
- Plastic popup tools are not eligible for return.
- Automation components and circuit boards are not eligible for return.
- If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
- Orders refused at the time of delivery will be subject to the original shipping costs being deducted from the refund.
