The G52 Back-Up Valve Kit is designed for Polaris pressure-side pool cleaners including models 180, 280, 380, 480 Pro, and 3900 Sport. It replaces worn or non-functioning valves to restore proper cleaner cycling and pool coverage.

Installation Instructions

  • Turn off the pool pump and release pressure in the cleaner hose line.
  • Locate the existing back-up valve, usually positioned 5–6 feet from the cleaner head.
  • Disconnect the old valve and replace it with the new G52 valve, ensuring the arrow on the body points in the direction of water flow.
  • Reattach hose connections and secure fittings tightly.
  • Restart the pool pump and observe the cleaner to ensure proper back-up cycling occurs every few minutes.

Troubleshooting

  • Cleaner stuck or not moving properly: Verify correct valve orientation and that the timer mechanism is functioning.
  • Cleaner backs up too often or not at all: Check for debris in the valve and confirm it is the correct G52 model for your cleaner.
  • Leaks at hose connection: Inspect O-rings, tighten fittings, and ensure the valve is seated properly.

Maintenance Tip

Inspect the back-up valve each season for wear, cracks, or reduced timing performance. Replace the valve if water leaks continuously from the ports or if the cleaner no longer reverses as expected. Regular maintenance of the G52 valve ensures efficient cleaner operation and full pool coverage.

Return Policy:

  • Products that are received damaged will receive a refund in store credit.

  • To initiate a return, please complete an RMA form prior to sending your item back.
  • Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the return credit.
  • Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
  • Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.
  • We are unable to issue refunds for items that have been damaged or rendered inoperable due to installer error.

  • If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
