The Polaris C86 is a replacement drive shaft assembly for compatible Polaris pressure-side pool cleaners. This internal shaft transfers turbine power to the cleaner’s drive system so the wheels can turn and the cleaner can move normally. Replace it when the cleaner stops moving, moves inconsistently, or the drive train slips under load.

Common Symptoms of a Worn Drive Shaft

Installation Notes

  • Turn off the booster pump and remove the cleaner from the pool before servicing.
  • Drive components are internal—take photos as you disassemble so parts go back in the correct order.
  • Inspect related wear items while you’re inside (turbine bearings, wheel bearings/bushings, belts/gears as applicable).
  • After reassembly, test in the pool and confirm smooth wheel rotation and normal backup valve cycles.
