The Pentair / Sta-Rite 27002-0048S is the OEM replacement D.E. filter module (grid element) for the Sta-Rite System:2 Modular D.E. filter model PLDE48 (also referenced as PLDE48-DE). This 48 square foot module is the internal filtration element that carries the D.E. powder and provides the fine filtration performance of a modular D.E. system.

What This Module Does
- Provides the internal surface area that holds D.E. powder for fine particle removal
- Restores filtration performance when the existing module is torn, brittle, clogged beyond cleaning, or damaged
- Helps return normal system pressure and flow when the old element is restricted
When to Replace
- Visible tears, cracks, or separation in the fabric/pleats
- D.E. returning to the pool after recharging (and plumbing/valve issues are ruled out)
- Chronic high filter pressure that does not improve after a thorough cleaning
- Element is brittle or deformed from age, chemical exposure, or overheating/run-dry events
Installation Notes
- Shut off the pump and relieve all air/pressure from the filter before opening.
- Remove the old module and clean the tank interior, sealing surfaces, and air bleed passages.
- Inspect and replace the tank O-ring if flattened, cracked, or swollen; lubricate lightly with pool-safe silicone lubricant.
- Reassemble, then recharge with the correct amount of D.E. for a 48 sq ft System:2 PLDE filter (follow your filter label/manual).
- After start-up, check for leaks and confirm pressure returns to a normal clean-start reading.

Maintenance Tips
- Record your clean filter pressure after installing a new module—use it as your baseline for future cleaning.
- Clean/backwash per your filter’s procedure and recharge with the proper D.E. amount each time.
- Rinse oils and debris off the module periodically with a proper filter cleaner to prevent permanent restriction.
- Never run the system without proper prime—overheating can damage the filter element and internal seals.
- Inspect the tank O-ring during every service and replace it at the first sign of flattening or cracking.

Return Policy:
- Products that are received damaged will receive a refund in store credit.
- Most products are eligible for return within 30 days of receipt, except where noted below.
- To initiate a return, please complete an RMA form prior to sending your item back.
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the return credit.
- Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
- Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.
- We are unable to issue refunds for items that have been damaged or rendered inoperable due to installer error.
- Please complete the return form to receive your RMA number and return shipping label.
- Chemical products are not eligible for return under any circumstances.
- The Pentair Colorsync 618031 is not eligible for return.
- Pool cleaners are not eligible for return.
- Opened seals and o-rings are not eligible for return.
- Capacitors are not eligible for return.
- Plastic popup tools are not eligible for return.
- Automation components and circuit boards are not eligible for return.
- If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
- Orders refused at the time of delivery will be subject to the original shipping costs being deducted from the refund.
