Pentair 272515 Air Bleeder Screw with O-Ring (Manual Air Relief)
The Pentair 272515 is an OEM manual air bleeder screw (air relief) that includes an O-ring to help seal the bleeder port. It’s used to vent trapped air from select Pentair/PacFab valves and filter assemblies during start-up or after service, helping the system prime properly and run smoothly.
Common Applications (Verify by Model/Revision)
- Pentair/PacFab Hi-Flow 6-way top-mount (clamp-style) multiport valves, especially older versions
- Pentair Sta-Rite Star Polymeric and Star D.E. filter assemblies (select models)
- Other Pentair/PacFab filter/valve bodies that use this specific bleeder screw style and thread
Note: Some clamp-style valves manufactured before March 1, 1993 use air bleeder 272515 and it is not interchangeable with certain newer bleeder designs. Match the part to your valve/filter parts diagram and the physical bleeder screw you’re replacing.
What This Part Does
- Allows manual bleeding of trapped air from the valve/filter housing
- Helps reduce priming issues and air pockets after cleaning or plumbing work
- O-ring provides a seal to reduce seepage at the bleeder port when closed
When to Replace
- Water seepage or dripping at the bleeder port
- Cracked plastic screw head/body or stripped threads
- Flattened, swollen, or missing O-ring
- Bleeder is seized and breaks during service
Installation Notes
- Shut off the pump and relieve pressure before removing the old bleeder.
- Inspect the port threads and sealing surface; clean away debris and scale.
- Lightly lubricate the O-ring with pool-safe silicone lubricant (do not over-lube).
- Hand-tighten only—over-tightening can crack plastic parts or distort the O-ring seal.

Maintenance Tips
- Bleed air slowly on start-up after filter cleaning to avoid sudden surges.
- Replace the O-ring if you see persistent dampness around the bleeder even when closed.
- Keep valve/filter lids and clamps properly sealed—air leaks elsewhere can mimic a bleeder problem.
- In freezing climates, winterize properly so trapped water doesn’t crack small plastic fittings.

Return Policy:
- Products that are received damaged will receive a refund in store credit.
- Most products are eligible for return within 30 days of receipt, except where noted below.
- To initiate a return, please complete an RMA form prior to sending your item back.
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the return credit.
- Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
- Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.
- We are unable to issue refunds for items that have been damaged or rendered inoperable due to installer error.

- Pool cleaners are not eligible for return.
- Opened seals and o-rings are not eligible for return.
- Capacitors are not eligible for return.

- Automation components and circuit boards are not eligible for return.
- If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
- Orders refused at the time of delivery will be subject to the original shipping costs being deducted from the refund.
