Pentair 24700-0075Z Long Lateral Assembly for Sta-Rite High-Rate Sand Filters
The Pentair 24700-0075Z is an OEM long lateral assembly used inside select Pentair Sta-Rite high-rate sand filters. Laterals distribute water evenly through the sand bed during filtration and collect water during backwash. Replacing a cracked or broken lateral helps restore proper flow and helps prevent sand from returning to the pool.

Common Signs a Lateral Needs Replacement
- Sand returning to the pool through the return jets
- Cracked or split lateral “fingers” found during service
- Uneven filtration performance or abnormal flow after ruling out valve/pump issues
- Recurring debris bypassing the filter (especially after backwash)
Installation Notes
- Shut off the pump and relieve filter pressure completely before opening the tank.
- Remove sand carefully to expose the lateral hub/manifold as needed.
- Replace damaged laterals and inspect the hub/manifold for cracks or worn threads.
- Hand-tighten laterals snugly (do not over-tighten plastic threads).
- When refilling, add water to the tank before adding sand to help cushion laterals and reduce breakage risk.
- After reassembly, backwash and rinse per your normal start-up procedure and confirm no sand returns to the pool.

Maintenance Tips
- Backwash when filter pressure rises about 8–10 PSI over your clean starting pressure.
- Always rinse after backwashing (if your valve has a Rinse position) to help prevent debris from returning to the pool.
- If sand returns after correct backwash/rinse, inspect laterals and the standpipe/hub for damage.
- Protect the filter from freezing conditions and direct impacts to reduce the chance of cracked internals.

Return Policy:
- Products that are received damaged will receive a refund in store credit.

- Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the return credit.
- Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
- Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.
