The Pentair / Sta-Rite 24901-0003 is an OEM replacement lateral assembly used inside the Sta-Rite System:3 SS-Series sand filter model S8S70. Laterals distribute water evenly through the sand bed during filtration and collect water during backwash. Replacing cracked or broken laterals helps restore proper flow and prevents sand from returning to the pool.

Common Signs You Need New Laterals
- Sand returning to the pool through the return jets

Installation Notes
- Shut off the pump and relieve all pressure before opening the filter.
- Lower the water level in the tank and remove sand as needed to access the lateral hub/manifold.
- Replace any damaged laterals and inspect the hub/manifold for cracks or worn threads.
- Hand-tighten laterals snugly—avoid over-tightening plastic threads.
- When refilling, add water first before adding sand to help cushion laterals and reduce breakage risk.
- After reassembly, rinse/backwash per your normal start-up procedure and confirm no sand returns to the pool.

Maintenance Tips
- Never change multiport valve positions with the pump running—this helps protect laterals and internal valve seals.
- Backwash when filter pressure rises about 8–10 PSI over your clean starting pressure.
- If sand returns after a proper backwash/rinse, inspect laterals and the standpipe/hub for damage.
- Keep water chemistry balanced—extreme pH and high calcium can shorten the life of plastic internals over time.

Return Policy:
- Products that are received damaged will receive a refund in store credit.
- Most products are eligible for return within 30 days of receipt, except where noted below.
- To initiate a return, please complete an RMA form prior to sending your item back.
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the return credit.
- Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
- Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.
- We are unable to issue refunds for items that have been damaged or rendered inoperable due to installer error.

- Opened seals and o-rings are not eligible for return.

- Automation components and circuit boards are not eligible for return.
- If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
- Orders refused at the time of delivery will be subject to the original shipping costs being deducted from the refund.
