Pentair 272531 Hi-Flow 1-1/2" Top-Mount Multiport Valve Top Assembly (6-Position)
The Pentair 272531 is a replacement top valve assembly for select Pentair/PacFab Hi-Flow 6-way, 1-1/2" top-mount (clamp-style) multiport valves commonly used on Tagelus® and Sand Dollar® sand filter systems. This assembly replaces the complete upper “lid/cover” portion of the valve (handle and diverter top assembly) to restore smooth operation, positive indexing, and dependable valve function.

- Hi-Flow 6-way 1-1/2" top-mount multiport valve series commonly referenced as 262504, 262505, 262506
- Commonly found on Pentair Tagelus and Sand Dollar sand filter configurations (model/revision dependent)
Always confirm fit with your valve model/parts diagram and plumbing size. This is for the 1-1/2" Hi-Flow top-mount style.

When to Replace the Top Assembly
- Handle is hard to move, binds, or will not lock positively into positions
- Internal leakage/cross-porting between settings (after confirming gasket/diverter issues)
- Cracked lid, stripped fasteners, or damaged top housing from overtightening or UV exposure
- Repeated leaks at the cover area or worn internal sealing surfaces
Installation Notes
- Shut off the pump and relieve all filter pressure before servicing the valve.
- Note the existing handle position and take photos before disassembly.
- Inspect the clamp, tank O-ring, and sealing surfaces for wear; replace worn seals as needed.
- After installation, run Rinse briefly (after Backwash) before returning to Filter.

Maintenance Tips
- Never change valve positions while the pump is running—always shut off power first to protect internal seals.
- If the handle becomes stiff, inspect for sand/debris intrusion and worn internal gaskets before forcing the handle.
- Keep the valve shaded when possible—UV exposure can shorten plastic component life.
- After backwashing, always rinse to help prevent debris from returning to the pool.

Return Policy:
- Products that are received damaged will receive a refund in store credit.
- Most products are eligible for return within 30 days of receipt, except where noted below.
- To initiate a return, please complete an RMA form prior to sending your item back.
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the return credit.
- Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
- Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.
- We are unable to issue refunds for items that have been damaged or rendered inoperable due to installer error.
- Please complete the return form to receive your RMA number and return shipping label.
- Chemical products are not eligible for return under any circumstances.
- The Pentair Colorsync 618031 is not eligible for return.
- Pool cleaners are not eligible for return.
- Opened seals and o-rings are not eligible for return.
- Capacitors are not eligible for return.
- Plastic popup tools are not eligible for return.
- Automation components and circuit boards are not eligible for return.
- If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
- Orders refused at the time of delivery will be subject to the original shipping costs being deducted from the refund.
