Applications & Compatibility
This backwash valve is suitable for use with Pentair side-mounted sand filters such as the Triton series and Quad D.E. filters. It is ideal when upgrading from older valves or replacing a leaking or malfunctioning 6-position valve. Verify that your filter body uses a side-mounted valve with top-inlet configuration prior to ordering.
Installation Instructions
- Shut off the pool pump and relieve pressure in the system before servicing.
- Remove the old multiport valve, noting plumbing and electrical connections if applicable.
- Install the 263080 valve making sure the inlet ports align with the filter connection and union fittings are tight.
- Confirm the handle is in the “Filter” position before restoring flow.
- Restore circulation and observe device for leaks and correct functionality through each valve setting.
Troubleshooting
- Valve leaks at winterizing position: Inspect O-rings in end caps and ensure proper seal when handle is locked in the winterizing position.
- Loss of flow when set to Filter: Ensure unions are not cross-threaded and that the handle fully engages the seating detent.
- Hard to turn handle: Confirm pressure is relieved, check for debris in the valve body, and verify lubrication on the O-ring seal surfaces.
Maintenance Tip
Annually inspect all O-ring seals and end cap screws. Replace worn seals and tighten end cap bolts evenly. Keeping the valve in proper condition helps maintain low system pressure and increases overall filter efficiency.

Return Policy:
- Products that are received damaged will receive a refund in store credit.

- To initiate a return, please complete an RMA form prior to sending your item back.
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the return credit.
- Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
- Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.
- We are unable to issue refunds for items that have been damaged or rendered inoperable due to installer error.

- If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
- Orders refused at the time of delivery will be subject to the original shipping costs being deducted from the refund.
