What This Part Does

Installation Notes
- Shut off the pump, relieve pressure, and drain the filter before opening the tank.
- Remove sand as needed to access internal components without stressing the laterals.
- Inspect and replace any cracked laterals, worn seals, or damaged internal fittings at the same time to prevent repeat issues.
- Reassemble carefully so the standpipe is seated straight and the hub is fully engaged with the collector/lateral system.
- After reassembly, rinse/flush the system as appropriate and confirm no sand is returning to the pool.
Maintenance Tip
If you ever see sand in the pool, inspect the internal underdrain system promptly. Small cracks in internal parts or laterals can worsen quickly and allow more sand to pass, which can damage heaters, salt cells, and return fittings.
