Pentair 261049 2" Hi-Flow Multiport Valve (6-Position) – No Plumbing
The Pentair 261049 is a heavy-duty 2" Hi-Flow multiport backwash valve designed for high-capacity sand and D.E. filter systems. This model is supplied as the complete valve body and handle assembly without the inlet/outlet bulkhead plumbing adapters, making it ideal when you need the valve but are reusing existing bulkheads/unions or installing the correct adapters separately.

Multiport Valve Positions
- Filter – normal filtration
- Backwash – cleans filter media by reversing flow
- Rinse – settles media and clears debris after backwash
- Waste – bypasses filter to drain
- Recirculate – bypasses filter media, returns water to pool
- Closed – shuts off flow (pump must be off)

- Plumbing adapters: This listing is the valve body assembly only. If your installation requires bulkhead adapters/unions, purchase them separately.
- Orientation: Confirm whether your system requires a top-mount or side-mount configuration before ordering.
Common Reasons to Replace the Valve
- Water leaking to waste or returning when it should not (internal bypass/cross-porting)
- Handle is difficult to move, won’t index cleanly, or the top assembly is cracked
- Worn internal gaskets/seals causing poor filtration, weak backwash, or pressure issues
- Freeze/UV damage or cracked housing
Installation Notes
- Always shut off power and relieve all filter pressure before servicing or replacing a multiport valve.
- Dry-fit the valve and adapters first to confirm plumbing alignment and clearance for handle movement.
- After installation, perform a Backwash followed by a Rinse cycle before returning to Filter.
- Never change positions with the pump running to prevent seal damage.

Maintenance Tips
- Do not force a stiff handle—inspect for debris intrusion and worn seals before continuing use.
- Keep the valve shaded when possible to reduce UV-related plastic aging.
- If you notice slow drips to waste while in Filter, inspect the diverter gasket and top assembly seals.
- When servicing internal parts, clean sealing surfaces thoroughly and lubricate O-rings lightly with pool-safe silicone lubricant.

Return Policy:
- Products that are received damaged will receive a refund in store credit.
- Most products are eligible for return within 30 days of receipt, except where noted below.
- To initiate a return, please complete an RMA form prior to sending your item back.
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the return credit.
- Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
- Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.
- We are unable to issue refunds for items that have been damaged or rendered inoperable due to installer error.

- Pool cleaners are not eligible for return.
- Opened seals and o-rings are not eligible for return.
- Capacitors are not eligible for return.
- Plastic popup tools are not eligible for return.
- Automation components and circuit boards are not eligible for return.
- If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
- Orders refused at the time of delivery will be subject to the original shipping costs being deducted from the refund.
