Pentair 272590Z Union Adapter Kit (2") for 6-Position Top-Mount Clamp-On Multiport Valves

The Pentair 272590Z is an OEM 2-inch union kit used to connect plumbing to select Pentair 6-position top-mount clamp-on multiport valves. This kit is used when replacing cracked unions, worn union tailpieces, or leaking union connections on the valve body.

Compatible Equipment (Verify Before Ordering)

  • 2" 6-position top-mount clamp-on multiport valves, including valve models commonly referenced as 263085 and 262525

Always confirm compatibility by checking your valve model number and parts diagram, and verify you need the 2" union style.

What This Part Does

  • Provides the union connection between the multiport valve and 2" plumbing
  • Helps restore a watertight seal at the valve inlet/outlet union connections
  • Makes future service easier by allowing the valve to be disconnected without cutting pipe

Common Signs You Need a New Union Kit

  • Drips or seepage at the union nut area even after tightening
  • Cracked union nut or tailpiece
  • Flattened, swollen, or damaged union O-ring causing persistent leaks
  • Union threads are stripped or won’t tighten smoothly

Installation Notes

  • Shut off the pump and relieve filter pressure before servicing the valve or unions.
  • Inspect and replace the union O-ring(s) if worn; lubricate lightly with pool-safe silicone lubricant.
  • Hand-tighten the union nut snugly; avoid over-tightening which can crack plastic fittings.
  • Confirm the tailpiece seats squarely and the O-ring stays in place during assembly.

Maintenance Tips

  • Keep union threads clean and free of grit to prevent cross-threading and cracking.
  • Use only a small amount of pool-safe silicone lubricant on O-rings; too much can attract debris and compromise sealing.
  • If you need frequent service access, check unions seasonally for hairline cracks and replace at the first sign of damage.
  • After any valve or filter service, restart the system and re-check unions for slow drips once pressure stabilizes.

  • Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
  • Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.

  • Opened seals and o-rings are not eligible for return.
  • Capacitors are not eligible for return.
  • Plastic popup tools are not eligible for return.
  • Automation components and circuit boards are not eligible for return.
  • If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
  • Orders refused at the time of delivery will be subject to the original shipping costs being deducted from the refund.
