Pentair Rainbow Leaf Trap Latch & O-Ring Kit | R211600
The Pentair R211600 is a replacement latch and sealing O-ring kit used on Pentair/Rainbow leaf trap (leaf canister) assemblies. Replacing worn latches or a flattened O-ring helps restore a tight lid seal and prevents suction leaks that can reduce cleaner performance and pump prime.
Compatibility
- Pentair/Rainbow leaf trap models: 179, 179C, 180, and 186
- Commonly used on inline leaf traps installed on suction-side cleaner hoses

- Cracked or loose latch hardware that won’t hold the lid closed securely
- Flattened, swollen, or nicked lid O-ring that causes air leaks and loss of suction

- Hardware pieces used with the latch assembly (may include anchors/springs depending on production run)
Installation Notes
- Turn off the pump before servicing any suction-side plumbing.
- Open the leaf trap lid and remove the old O-ring; clean the O-ring groove and lid sealing surface.
- Install the new O-ring evenly in the groove (do not twist or stretch it).
- Replace the latch parts as needed and confirm the lid closes evenly all the way around.
- Restart the pump and check for air bubbles in the canister or suction loss.
Troubleshooting Tips
- Still pulling air: confirm the O-ring is seated correctly and the lid is not warped or cracked.
- Lid won’t clamp tight: inspect hinge points and latch alignment; debris in the rim can prevent sealing.
- O-ring keeps popping out: make sure the groove is clean and the O-ring is not twisted.

Maintenance Tips
- Empty and rinse the leaf trap regularly; a packed canister increases restriction and can stress seals.
- Wipe the lid sealing surface clean each time you service it to prevent small air leaks.
- If the O-ring looks dry, flattened, or cracked, replace it to maintain suction and prevent pump priming issues.

Return Policy:
- Products that are received damaged will receive a refund in store credit.

- To initiate a return, please complete an RMA form prior to sending your item back.
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the return credit.
- Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
- Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.
- We are unable to issue refunds for items that have been damaged or rendered inoperable due to installer error.

- Opened seals and o-rings are not eligible for return.

- Automation components and circuit boards are not eligible for return.
- If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
- Orders refused at the time of delivery will be subject to the original shipping costs being deducted from the refund.
