Description
Heavy-duty stainless steel tension spring designed for seasonal winter safety covers on in-ground swimming pools. The SSS model helps keep the cover taut, reducing sagging, debris accumulation and stress on anchors during harsh weather.
Compatibility & Fitment
- Intended for use with pool safety covers from Merlin® and other brands when anchor spacing, bracket placement or cover design calls for a 7½″ (approx) spring length.
- Fit for in-ground pool installations where maple-anchor systems or brass anchors are installed in the deck perimeter.
- Used when the original spring is corroded, stretched, broken or no longer able to maintain proper cover tension at anchor points.

- Designed to work in pairs with anchors to provide proper tension in the cover strap-and-spring system.

Installation Notes
Before installation, ensure the pool cover anchors are set and the cover straps aligned. Rotate the spring assembly to engage and connect the strap hook to the spring loop, then mount the spring to the anchor. Gradually tension the strap until the safety cover lays flat and snug over the pool surface with no significant pockets. Verify anchor uniformity around the pool perimeter and replace any worn components. Re-check strap tension after the first storm cycle.
Maintenance Tip
At season-end, inspect each spring for corrosion, deformation or loss of tension. Replace springs showing visible wear, pitting or stretching beyond serviceable length—doing so helps maintain cover integrity, prevents sagging and supports the anchor system’s long-term durability.

Return Policy:
- Products that are received damaged will receive a refund in store credit.
- Most products are eligible for return within 30 days of receipt, except where noted below.
- To initiate a return, please complete an RMA form prior to sending your item back.
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the return credit.
- Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
- Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.
- We are unable to issue refunds for items that have been damaged or rendered inoperable due to installer error.
- Please complete the return form to receive your RMA number and return shipping label.
- Chemical products are not eligible for return under any circumstances.
- The Pentair Colorsync 618031 is not eligible for return.
- Pool cleaners are not eligible for return.
- Opened seals and o-rings are not eligible for return.
- Capacitors are not eligible for return.
- Plastic popup tools are not eligible for return.
- Automation components and circuit boards are not eligible for return.
- If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
- Orders refused at the time of delivery will be subject to the original shipping costs being deducted from the refund.
