Description
High-capacity cartridge filter designed for pool and spa systems. With approximately 90 sq ft of pleated polyester media, it offers excellent filtration performance and extended service life compared to standard cartridges.
Compatibility & Fitment
- Fits filter housings specifying FC-1292 or equivalents (such as models with 8-15/16″ outer diameter × 17-3/8″ length and open both ends).
- Replaces original cartridges in popular models like Hayward C-900/CX900RE, Sta-Rite PXC-95, Unicel C-8409 and others with similar geometry.
- Ideal when the existing cartridge is cracked, warped, no longer rinses clean effectively, or shows higher pressure and reduced flow.

- Top & Bottom Opening: ~4″ plain open (no molded gasket) both ends.
- Media Type: Premium polyester pleated for durability and high flow.
- Construction: Reinforced PVC core with break-resistant bands and antimicrobial end caps for long life in salt or chlorinated pools.
Installation Notes
Turn off the pump and relieve filter pressure. Remove the filter tank top, lift out the old cartridge element. Clean all interior surfaces of the filter housing and check O-rings and gaskets for wear. Insert the new FC-1292 cartridge ensuring full seat and alignment. Re-assemble the tank, restore circulation, and monitor initial pressure to confirm proper installation.
Maintenance Tip
Clean periodically by rinsing, soaking in filter cleaner if needed, rinsing again, and allowing to fully dry before reinstall. Replace the cartridge when rinsing no longer restores acceptable pressure or flow, or when the element shows discoloration, torn media, or broken end caps.

Return Policy:
- Products that are received damaged will receive a refund in store credit.
- Most products are eligible for return within 30 days of receipt, except where noted below.
- To initiate a return, please complete an RMA form prior to sending your item back.
- Original shipping costs are non-refundable and will be deducted from the return credit.
- Items returned missing accessories or original packaging, or that are not in the same condition as received, may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 100% depending on the condition of the item upon return.
- Some returns will be charged an automatic 15% restocking fee.
- We are unable to issue refunds for items that have been damaged or rendered inoperable due to installer error.
- Please complete the return form to receive your RMA number and return shipping label.
- Chemical products are not eligible for return under any circumstances.
- The Pentair Colorsync 618031 is not eligible for return.
- Pool cleaners are not eligible for return.
- Opened seals and o-rings are not eligible for return.
- Capacitors are not eligible for return.
- Plastic popup tools are not eligible for return.
- Automation components and circuit boards are not eligible for return.
- If a light is returned due to a reported malfunction and is found to be fully operational upon testing, return shipping costs and a restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
- Orders refused at the time of delivery will be subject to the original shipping costs being deducted from the refund.
