Applications & Compatibility

This motor is commonly used as a replacement for pool pumps requiring a 56Y square-flange mount, including models from Pentair, Sta-Rite, PacFab, and other major pump manufacturers. Always verify your existing motor’s horsepower, speed, voltage, and frame type to ensure compatibility.

Installation Instructions

  • Turn off all electrical power to the pump before servicing.
  • Disconnect wiring and remove the old motor from the pump housing.
  • Inspect and replace the pump shaft seal when installing the new motor.
  • Mount the B2852 using the square-flange bolt pattern and ensure proper shaft alignment.
  • Wire the motor according to the voltage selected (115V or 230V) following the diagram on the motor label.
  • Reassemble the pump, restore power, and test for smooth operation and proper water flow.

Troubleshooting

  • Motor won’t start: Verify correct wiring, check the circuit breaker, and inspect capacitor function if applicable.
  • Excessive noise or vibration: Ensure proper pump alignment, inspect bearings, and check for debris or impeller issues.
  • Overheating: Confirm adequate ventilation, verify correct voltage selection, and maintain clean pump strainer and filter system.

Maintenance Tip

Keep motor cooling vents clear, replace the pump shaft seal during motor changes, and inspect bearings or alignment annually. Replacing an aging or loud motor with the B2852 can restore pump performance and improve system reliability.
